Undoing Racism Austin is a collective effort by a group that includes artists, lawyers, community organizers, educators, and neighborhood activists. We are committed to Austin’s strong and equitable future by eliminating the very real and painful racial inequities in our City and in people’s lives.

We Will Not Be Silent

is an artist/activist collective that has been in existence since 2006. Through the creative use of language embodied on shirts and emboldened on signs held up in public spaces, we respond to current social justice issues, encouraging creative, direct public-actions where many people can participate.

Living River Cluster

The Cluster is a community of individuals and affinity groups who bring an earth-based spirituality to global justice and peace actions. With courage and friendship, our community strives to create a better world. We practice the art of changing global consciousness by incorporating music, drums, ritual, myth, humor and magic into our actions.

Occupation Training

Act trainers have been organizing trainings in many cities including New York, Washington DC, Austin, TX, San Francisco, Los Angeles,  We have been mentoring organizers and trainers in many other cities including Oakland, Albuquerque, Baltimore, Philly, and Chicago!  We are working in collaboration with many other trainers networks and organizations to build best practices, provide trainer support and gather common training materials and resources to support the growing occupy movement.

RANT: Root Activist Network of Trainers

The Root Activist Network of Trainer is a movement-support collective providing strategic direct action planning, campaign development, and preparations for groups and mobilizations seeking to dismantle unjust systems and institutions while building power for global justice movements. Our expertise is in supporting directly democratic, horizontal organizations. We work using a model of empowered learning that holds a deep respect for the experience and knowledge of all participants.

RUST – Radical Urban Sustainability Trainings

Juniper is a core trainer for this three-day workshop initiated out of the Rhizome Collective in Austin, TX looking at how we can survive in urban centers off the grid.   Trainings take place in Austin, TX and Albany, NY usually in the spring.

Skills for a New Millennium Bus Tour

A project growing out of the EAT trainings offers a model and hands on experience for living in a sustainable ways.  Our friends Delyla, Stan and Megan have transformed their home to a learning machine on wheels.  They might be coming to a community near you!

Think Outside the Bomb

TOTB is  the largest youth led network in the country working on ending the cycle of nuclear violence.   ACT has provided trainings at the 5th Annual Conference and the February 2010 Training for Trainers (40 youth participants).  We are continuing to support and mentor this network in their Disarmament Summer campaign which is an anti-racist public education and action effort aimed at stopping the proposed expansion of the nuclear weapons complex and the renewal of uranium mining while working to clean up the environment and win health care justice for those impacted by the nuclear and mining industries.

    How can I get in touch with some trainers to take the training in nonviolent resistance?
    And would it be possible to set up a training group at the Occupy Oakland site?
